What is a cult film?
A cult film could refer to a films that tend to have less success than some big budget Hollywood films but despite this still has a large cult like audience behind it, an example of this could be the rocky horror picture show. Another of these could be a film such as the thing which isn't a Hollywood renowned movie but still has a large following due to how good the movie was and its affect on the horror genre.
What is a secret cinema?
Secret cinema is an event where you go to watch a film under circumstances relevant to the film you’re watching. All phones are locked away and people participating in the event are dressed up as the cast and the surrounds are altered to make it seem as if you are a part of the film.
What is an interactive screening?
An interactive screening is when a film is shown to a group of people but various things are occurring in order to get the audience more engaged within the film, This could range from things such as the design of the room to people coming in and acting as if they were one of the characters in the movie and the list goes on from there. The key idea is to set the scene as if you were in the film.
As well as this that we learned we also in this lesson watched a documentary on the rocky horror picture show and how people get really involved within the franchise and turn a viewing of it into a type of interactive screening as they act it out and sing as if they were performing a play on the movie.
